Unsung Heroes with Tony Woods delivers an unfiltered night of top-tier storytelling and sharp stand-up for a special Veterans Day show. Headlining is TONY WOODS, the comedian Dave Chappelle singled out from the stage when he accepted the Mark Twain Prize. Chappelle compared Woods’s influence to that of Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie on Miles Davis and told him, “You were the first person I ever saw do it absolutely right.” With appearances on Netflix, HBO Max, The Joe Rogan Experience and Comedy Central, TONY WOODS is known for a mellow, effortless cool and crowd work that keeps a room in his hands.
Long before the national stage, TONY WOODS served in the United States Navy as a corpsman attached to the Fleet Marine Force, working alongside the Marines’ medical and dental branch. He later took his act back to the troops on Armed Forces Entertainment tours. That perspective, straight from the frontlines to the punchlines, anchors a night built to honor those who served. A curated roster of powerhouse touring comedians rounds out the showcase, which lands as well with military and veteran groups as it does with die-hard comedy fans.
Comix Roadhouse salutes the service of our veterans with a pre-show meal worth showing up early for. The venue earned Connecticut Magazine’s 2026 Best of Connecticut statewide win for Best Casino Casual Dining, along with OpenTable’s 2026 Diners’ Choice Award. That cements its place as one of the region’s premier spots to eat, drink, and be entertained.
